At the Red and White City Hall in Bengkulu City, 270 field officers for the 2026 Economic Census were officially released by the Mayor of Bengkulu, Dr. Dedi Wahyudi, SE. MM, on Monday, June 15, 2026. Also present at the release were the Deputy Speaker of the Bengkulu City DPRD, the Head of the Bengkulu Province Statistics Agency (BPS), the Bengkulu City Regional Secretary, representatives from the Bengkulu City Police, assistants and expert staff, and heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations.
When releasing the census field officers, the Mayor of Bengkulu instructed all officers to work honestly and enthusiastically. The SE2026 officers were selected as the best individuals based on the selection process and are expected to collect quality data.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bengkulu Province Statistics Agency (BPS), Ir. Win Rizal, M.E., in his remarks emphasized Bengkulu City's strategic role in supporting the province's economy. Judging by the size of its GRDP, Bengkulu City accounts for 31.92 percent of Bengkulu Province's economic strength.
The Head of the Bengkulu City Statistics Agency (BPS), Dr. Iin Inayati, S.ST, MM, stated in her report that 270 field officers for the 2026 Census will conduct door-to-door data collection from June 15 to August 31, 2026.
"They will visit all businesses and households, because the 2026 census is not only about businesses but also about collecting socio-economic data on families. So, essentially, the entire Indonesian population will be recorded," Iin explained.
As a demonstration of their commitment and responsibility to carrying out their duties, all officers took the opportunity to declare their readiness for duty.
