Abstract
In April 2020, Bengkulu City
experienced a deflation of 0.35 percent. The deflation in Bengkulu City in
April 2020 was due to a decrease in prices as indicated by the decrease in
several indexes of expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco
group by 1.18 percent; clothing and footwear group of 0.03 percent; the
transportation group by 0.07 percent and the information, communication and
financial services group by 0.99 percent. While the group that experienced
inflation was the group of equipment, equipment and routine household
maintenance by 0.29 percent; health group of 0.19 percent; recreation, sports
and culture group by 0.21 percent; the food and beverage / restaurant supply
group by 0.11 percent and the personal care and other services group by 0.33
percent. While the expenditure groups that seemed stable were the housing,
water, electricity, and household fuel and education groups. The amount of
inflation in the calendar year (inflation rate) of -0.14 percent, and annual
inflation (year on year) was recorded at 1.97 percent.
