Abstract

In May 2020, Bengkulu City experienced an inflation of 0.41 percent. Bengkulu City inflation in May 2020 occurred because of an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in several indexes of the expenditure group, namely: the clothing and footwear group of 0.14 percent; health group of 0.08 percent; transportation group by 3.10 percent; recreation, sports and culture group of 0.08 percent; and personal care and other services by 1.33 percent. While the groups experiencing deflation were food, beverages and tobacco by 0.68 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel by 0.04 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance by 0.09 percent. While the expenditure groups that looked stable were the information, communication and financial services group; education and food and beverage / restaurant supply groups. With inflation of 0.41 percent in May 2020, the magnitude of calendar year inflation (inflation rate) of 0.27 percent, and annual inflation (year on year) was recorded at 1.57 percent.
