Abstract

In September 2024, Bengkulu City's year on year (y-on-y) inflation was recorded at 1.84 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.9.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to the prices increase as indicated by an increase in the price index for expenditure category, namely: the food, beverages and tobacco category by 3.24 percent; the clothing and footwear category by 0.26 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuels category at 0.62 percent; health category at 1.68 percent; transport category at 0.93 percent; recreation, sports and culture category at 1.81 percent; education category at 0.84 percent; food and beverages/restaurant provision category at 2.54 percent; and the personal care and other services category at 6.53 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure category experienced a decline in the price index (deflation) were furniture, furnishings and household equipment, and operation category at 1.02 percent; and information, communication and financial services category at 0.51 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate in September 2024 was 0.17 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate in September 2024 was 0.74 percent.
