Consumer Price Index Bengkulu Municipality 2024

Along with the development of information technology, changes in people's income, changes in patterns of demand and supply of goods/services, and changes in people's lifestyles can change people's consumption patterns. This consumption pattern data is the basic material for calculating the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and inflation. CPI is one of the strategic data produced by the Central Statistics Agency. CPI is calculated based on the results of processing the Consumer Price Survey (SHK) in a city. SHK includes types of goods and services with qualities/brands that are generally widely consumed by people in the city concerned. Consumer price data was obtained from respondents/retail traders. The inflation indicator figures, which are the resultant (weighted average) of changes in the CPI for various goods and services, are useful for providing basic information for decision making at both the micro and macro economic levels, both fiscal and monetary. Therefore, considering how important the CPI data is, the BPS City of Bengkulu published the 2024 Bengkulu City Consumer Price Index Publication which aims to provide data and provide information about the CPI, as well as its developments every month in the City of Bengkulu during 2023. This publication also outlines the development of 11 expenditure groups that make up the CPI and comparison of inflation in the Sumatra Region in 2023.
