Abstract

In Januari 2024, Bengkulu City's year on year (y-o-y) inflation was recorded at 2.85 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.28.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to the prices increase as indicated by an increase in the price index for most expenditure category, namely: the food, beverages and tobacco category by 6.12 percent; the clothing and footwear category by 1.04 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuels category at 1.31 percent; furniture, furnishings and household equipment, and operation category at 1.09 percent; transport category at 2.86 percent; information, communication and financial services category at 0.39 percent; recreation, sports and culture category at 2.55 percent; education category at 1.36 percent; food and beverages/restaurant provision category at 1.28 percent; and the personal care and other services category at 2.61 percent. Meanwhile, the health category that experienced a decline in the price index were 0.38 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate in January 2024 was 0.15 percent.
