Abstract

In July 2024, Bengkulu City's year on year (y-on-y) inflation was recorded at 2.27 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.15.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to the prices increase as indicated by an increase in the price index for expenditure category, namely: the food, beverages and tobacco category by 4.47 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuels category at 0.60 percent; health category at 1.37 percent; transport category at 1.67 percent; recreation, sports and culture category at 3.24 percent; education category at 1.38 percent; food and beverages/restaurant provision category at 2.35 percent; and the personal care and other services category at 5.94 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure category experienced a decline in the price index (deflation) were the clothing and footwear category by 0.03 percent; furniture, furnishings and household equipment, and operation category at 1.15 percent; and information, communication and financial services category at 0.43 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate in July 2024 was 0.44 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate in July 2024 was 0.98 percent.
