Abstract

In February 2024, Bengkulu City's year on year (y-o-y) inflation was recorded at 3.42 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.92.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to the prices increase as indicated by an increase in the price index for expenditure category, namely: the food, beverages and tobacco category by 8.04 percent; the clothing and footwear category by 0.77 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuels category at 1.33 percent; furniture, furnishings and household equipment, and operation category at 0.57 percent; transport category at 2.93 percent; information, communication and financial services category at 0.28 percent; recreation, sports and culture category at 2.36 percent; education category at 1.36 percent; food and beverages/restaurant provision category at 1.74 percent; and the personal care and other services category at 2.87 percent. Meanwhile, the health category that experienced a decline in the price index (deflation) were 0.51 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate in February 2024 was 0.61 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate in February 2024 was 0.76 percent.
