Abstract

In May 2025, Bengkulu City's year on year (y-on-y) inflation was recorded at 0.53 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.27.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to the prices increase as indicated by an increase in the price index for expenditure category, namely: the clothing and footwear category by 1.53 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuels category at 0.20 percent; health category at 1.97 percent; transport category at 0.17 percent; recreation, sports and culture category at 0.53 percent; education category at 1.82 percent; food and beverages/restaurant provision category at 1.16 percent; and the personal care and other services category at 5.72 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure category experienced a decline in the price index (deflation) were the food, beverages and tobacco category by 0.64 percent; furniture, furnishings and household equipment, and operation category at 0.81 percent; and information, communication and financial services category at 0.01 percent.
